Mental Health Awareness Month: Introducing the Resiliency Center

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s an honor to spotlight a newly minted provider our Glasshouse Commercial team recently had the pleasure of assisting.
Read on for a Q&A with Alicia Ciccone, LPCC, founder of the Resiliency Center in Kettering, Ohio.
What is the Resiliency Center?
The Resiliency Center is a team of counselors with varying backgrounds and expertise who provide in-person and telehealth services. We serve a range of clientele across individual, family and couples-based sessions.
In naming the business, we chose the word resilience because it captures the multi-faceted process of healing and growth that many experience as they seek mental health support. And in branding the practice, we feature a dandelion in our logo because it symbolizes emotional healing. The dandelion is the official flower of the military child – and they can take root and flourish anywhere the wind blows.
Why did you decide to open the practice?
As a military spouse who’s experienced several cross-country moves, I understand how difficult it can be for military family members – especially younger children – to access mental health services that are covered by most major insurance providers. I’m also intimately familiar with the nuances of military life that can be a challenge for members of our armed forces and their families who support them.
Our website provides a list of accepted insurance carriers – and it’s important to note that we also accept Medicare and Medicaid plans.
When can clients start visiting the practice?
Our doors will officially open at the beginning of June! We’re currently building a wait list of patients so we can begin matching them with our team of therapists. We’re also continuing to build our amazing team of therapists who specialize in areas ranging from grief, ADHD and parenting issues to military culture, addiction and LGBTQI+ related topics.
Tell us about your space.
We worked with Tom Kretz and the Glasshouse Commercial team to secure 1,110 square feet of leased office space at 5975 Kentshire Drive in Kettering. It’s an ideal location near Whipp Road with quick access to Interstate 675 that surrounds the Dayton metro area. The suite used to be a dentist office, so we’re in the process of retrofitting so it’s conducive for a variety of counseling sessions and clients. Tom and his team made the process extremely seamless and we couldn’t be happier!
